Elbulli is a restaurant that is beyond the common stuff and is based on the principle:- Either you are copying or creating and have initiated Gastronomy movement in Entire world.
Continuous  innovation in the offerings and strived for a unique dining had become the motto of Elbulli since its creation in 1961.Under the refined vision of Ferran Adria, Elbulli spearheaded its unparallel position not only in restaurant industry but also in innovation industry.
One of the driving forces behind Elbulli success is continuous emphasis on innovation. Elbulli remained open only for six months. For every season, a new menu is created by developing new dishes through thought generating techniques and doctrines that Adria and his team developed and created over the time. Traditional dishes were reinvented using method of deconstruction and using new equipment etc, to give delightful experience to its patrons.
Elbulli had adopted differentiation as their core business strategy and created a strong brand positioning through a unique dining experience and molecular gastronomy movement. A total staff of 60 is used to serve 50 customers in a day. Elbulli used raw materials which are 10 times (by weight) to the food served to the guests. Menu offered 1616 types of wine and new plates and flatware are sometimes designed to use along with single recipe.
In the process of innovation and differentiation, Elbulli had created intangible, intangible, inimitable and non-substitutable core competencies for itself through innovation in recipe creation and offering unique experience to its guests. Elbulli replicated these core competencies to expand its business into hotels, fast foods and consulting business.
Although, Elbulli is run at below breakeven level , a unique brand positioning, continuous demand and Adria’s vision can greatly  helped Elbulli to leveraged on its current business models  to create new opportunities for future ventures. Now the question is that should it ventured into new busiess areas or pursue line of innovation.
